THE
INCREDIBLE, EDIBLE SNOWFLAKE
The
wonder of it, the snowflake!
No
two kinds alike in the world.
Just
like us humans, couldn’t you say?
Fingerprints
of nature unfurled.
They
fall as they may;
They
fall where they might;
A
rainbow of color residing within,
To
create the color of white.
Color,
at its ambiguous best,
Should
be blind to all human eye.
For
residing within us, we are the same,
As
snowflakes in the sky,
Floating
down from Heaven,
Residing
side by side
In
chaotic harmony,
Where
love and honor should abide.
Hexagonal
perfection, six-sided wonder,
The
insight of oneness defined,
Showing
off flawless creation,
But
burden of life cannot be denied.
The
weight of such a weightless flake,
When
gathered all together,
Can
cause the very earth to quake,
The
consequence of stormy weather.
The
edible snowflake – like communion –
Wafers
melting on the tongue,
Cleansing
and refreshing man,
To
help us learn to live as one.
Reminders
of beginnings,
When
we were just as small,
As
the incredible, edible snowflake –
Perfection
in our own little ball.
